Welcome to the Neuro Bureau

Feb 04, 2022

Welcome to the Neuro Bureau! We look forward to posting some insightful articles that aim to both inform and challenge our ideas about how our brain & central nervous system perceives the world and controls movement. It is clear that this a growing area of interest for therapists, coaches and researchers.

The Neuro Bureau is very much targeted toward the clinician or professional who works in the field of rehabilitation. While we personally work primarily in neurological & vestibular rehabilitation here at our Advanced Neuro Rehab clinics, the articles here are likely to be of interest to anyone interested in movement, balance, coaching, pain management, dizziness, injury recovery, sporting performance and clinical neuroscience. Yes, broad topics I know!

The brain is complex and understanding human movement and motor learning remains a challenge. However, as information becomes available, I think we can take a moment to consider how we might continue to evolve our professional practice. Our strength at ANE is providing context, so that neuroscientific and theoretical information can become more digestible and usable for the clinician. As Albert Einstein once said,

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius—and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction”

It’s a great time to share and collaborate. I look forward to delving into some topics that I reckon will generate some innovative thinking. I find all this stuff fascinating; I hope you do too.
